From Chairman’s Desk:

The Asansol-Durgapur Planning Area (ADPA) is now entering a new epoch, ushering a new vision in not only Industrial activities, in spheres of housing, institutional and commercial ventures. The general aspiration of the people in this  region are moving to a higher level as ADDA’s activities ascend day by day, turning their dreams into reality.

This website is an attempt to present the significant change in arenas of need-based planning and development-projects for up-holding socio-economic status of the region contained within plateau of River Damodar and Ajoy River on the North-South across the length from Bud Bud to Barakar in east-west direction.

For reasons of existence of extensive coal-seams and rapid industrialization, the region has experienced a very high growth in the last decade. ADDA has entered a mission by an agreement with the GoWB and GoI to operationalize urban renewal through the JN-NURM in the fields of Water Supply, Drainage and Sewerage, Management of solid wastes, Roads and low-cost Housing for the poor.

Apart from this, ADDA has concentrated on creation of core infrastructure right since its inception. The improved water supply and sanitation for the region, widening NH2 into a fast corridor, modernization of Sail-ISP, Burnpur, Proposals for setting up new Townships in Durgapur and Asansol, Shopping Malls, Truck Terminus, Education Hubs, Agriculture Hubs, Development of Life-time Residency in Asansol and Durgapur and Aerotropolis are some of the starts at right direction. All-round development activities are the main stay of ADDA

Needless to mention the ADDA, governed by a Board having a compliment of persons from elected representatives, administrative and technical fields is squarely balanced to tackle the problems and necessities of its planning area. A host of technical personnel with necessary expertise alongwith with capable and efficient administrative officials combine to contribute to the success of the Authority.

I hope this website, which is a small step in the globalized world, will help ADDA to spread its wing beyond its present and will also create a forum for interactive development in the future.
